Alt+Tabbing
Almost every time I alt+tab out and in again, this happens. Does anyone else have this issue? Sometimes my character will lag around also. But I'm constantly checking my internet and pinging all sorts of websites, and it only seems to be lagging inside Guild Wars. My entire connection is totally fine outside Guild Wars. As you can see later in the video, in the bottom-right of the screen, my little ping indicator was green the entire time.
Can anyone make any sense out of this? This is seriously annoying and driving me crazy. The problem will stop when I enter a town, and I won't have this alt+tabbing issue in a town or outpost, ever. This issue only occurs in Exploration Areas and inside Missions. But it doesn't always occur (about two-thirds of the time).
Also, I don't know why the video on Xfire is so laggy. My frame rate was perfect while recording, so I don't know how it got so jacked up after that.

It's not lag. It happens when you alt+tab for a longer time, like 5 minutes. Happens to me, too.
Not really sure why, but it should pass after some time.

lol yeah
Sometimes it happens even if I don't alt+tab. It's just the game client thinking your heroes aren't moving, so they aren't but their polys are forced to move because they are moving on the server side.

Ah, good to know it's not just me then. Is this a bug they're working on?

Probably not, coz its not that big a deal, and its not that common. It only happens every now and then from alt-tabbing

So I just basically need to hop back in the game for a second and refresh it to prevent it from doing that?

I also get this bug a lot and I don't believe it has much to do with how long you alt-tab for however it seems that it always fixes itself if you minimize the game using the button on top right of the client and then bring it back up. Not sure why exactly it's like this but when you minimize the client acts differently you can see the difference if you listen to the gw sounds when alt-tabbing and when minimizing. Anyway hope that helps!

I get this too, after alt+tabbing for more than about 5 minutes. I find that for me it goes away if i just map somewhere else.

I'm bumping this topic, I feel ashamed. This issue is due to your Video Memory being allocated to the Desktop when you Alt-Tab, this is not an issue that can be fixed by simply patching a client / server due to it being an actual hardware + software interaction issue so in reality it would have to be Microsoft which would need to patch an issue which has routes in Windows XP (we all know how great they are at fixing issues).
As an example if I Alt+Tab in Team Fortress 2 I'll experience invisible characters or floating models due to this issue, it happens with a lot of games. It normally only happens for a few seconds, if it happens any longer just alt+tab again and it should fix it.
However you could also fix the issue by running Guild Wars in a Window 24/7 as I do with most of my games. This seems to stop any Alt+Tab Windows issues I've ever had.
